10 years ago, the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Benin was established under the umbrella of SPE International, locating its hub in Benin City, Nigeria.
The Society’s mission remains steadfast: to unite a global community of engineers, scientists, and technology professionals, fostering knowledge exchange, innovation, and the advancement of technical and professional skills. This collective effort is dedicated to the exploration, development, and sustainable production of oil & gas and related energy resources, with the ultimate goal of ensuring a safe, secure, and sustainable energy future.
Currently, the SPE Benin Section has expand its impact by establishing two new student chapters:
Benson Idahosa University (BIU)
Federal University Oye Ekiti (FUOYE)
The leadership of SPE Benin Section has already initiated dialogue with the management of BIU, receiving a green light to proceed with the establishment of the chapter. A firm date for a courtesy visit to FUOYE is pending confirmation.
