With the mandate to create a minimum of 1 student chapter across sections in Nigeria by the SPE Nigeria Council Chair, Salahuddeen Tahir, the Society of Petroleum Engineers Benin Section is currently on course to establish two (2) student chapters within the section.
1. Benson Idahosa University (Benson Idahosa University) – April 2024 (Tentative)
2. Federal University Oye Ekiti (FUOYE) – May 2024 (Tentative)
The leadership of SPE Benin Section has paid a courtesy visit to the management of BIU on the 13th of November 2023 with the management having given the go-ahead to commence the establishment of the chapter while we await a firm date for FUOYE courtesy visit.
